Members Levy 2025

Updated 8th April 2025

Oakmere Golf Club invested in Club Systems International Ltd technology several years ago. It offered a flexible and intuitive software platform from which the golf club could undertake its business.

The Admiral’s Club also invested into Club Systems International Ltd technology, and this forms the backbone of its ability to manage and operate competitions on the Admiral’s Course.
As with all technology it continues to advance and improve and recently Oakmere Golf Club and the Admiral’s Club upgraded their ‘Master Service Agreement’ to Premium Level. This offered greater latitude in efficiency and efficacy regarding using the system. This was then coupled with the need to pay additional capital associated with maintaining an interface with new World Handicap System platform which effectively administers alterations to individual handicaps for members of the golf club. This was a non-negotiable feature required by each golf club internationally to enable governing bodies to formally administer changes to a player’s handicap index.

Costs for the technology have increased substantially over the past year and whilst the Admiral’s Club have negotiated some reductions in annual costs the increases levied by Club Systems International Ltd remain high and unsustainable due to the level of income coming into the Admiral’s Club.

It is recognised that the technology remains vital to the Admiral’s Club because it is the only way that handicaps can be processed and monitored to ensure compliance with the requirements of the World Handicap System. All members of the Admiral’s Club with a handicap rely on the technology to maintain an up-to-date account of an individual’s playing ability which provides opportunities to visit other courses to play golf and compete in competitions. The technology also provides a link to the ‘How Did I Do’ App and the BRS Tee Booking System.

As with all things, the cost of Club V1 has increased dramatically over the last few years so following extensive discussion within the Men’s and Ladies Committees, together with discussions with the host club, we have had to make the difficult decision to increase the annual levy to £5 to every Admirals member who has a golf handicap in order to offset the increased costs mentioned above. This will maintain the ability of the Admiral’s Club to process handicap information for the benefit of members and establish a baseline from which competitions can be effectively managed. It is intended to collect the levy from member’s club cards and this will be done towards the end of April.

Moving forward, the Admiral’s Club will continue to investigate ways to negate any future financial burden associated with the use of this technology, keeping any potential increase of this levy to an absolute minimum. It is hoped that the use of this levy will also provide a springboard through which additional benefits can be enjoyed by members, such as increasing the prize money paid out to competition winners.

There will be no levy to any member that doesn’t have a golf handicap.

Yours Faithfully

Steve Mee
Admirals Club Secretary.
